Threads of identity- Palestinian embroidery
Tatreez is a traditional Palestinian embroidery, meaning "embroidery" in Arabic, known for its intricate and complex hand-stitched patterns that historically conveyed personal and regional identity. These embroidered garments served as a language among women, with different patterns, colors, and stitches representing a woman's origins, marital status, and life events.

("Sarwa"- سرو) rotfasthet, motstandskraft, evighet, standhaftighet og kontinuitet, ofte kalt «Livets tre» og representerer styrke, lang levetid og en tilknytning til hjemlandet, ofte funnet i nærheten av kirkegårder eller forfedres hjem som et symbol på varig ånd, minne og håp for fremtidige generasjoner til tross for fordrivelse.

حسين جميل برغوثي was a Palestinian poet, writer, essayist, critic, lyricist, playwright and philosopher, born in the Palestinian village Kobar.
"In his late forties, diagnosed with lymphoma, he return to memories of childhood in the village of his birth, Kobar, where the house in which he grew up is surrounded by almond and fig orchards.
the realization of his impending death also urges him to vocalize this experience, and he relates the progress of the disease at frequent intervals. Mohammed Moussa is a Palestinian freelance journalist, podcast host, and the founder of the Gaza Poets Society.The group is the premier spoken word community in Gaza. They compile anthologies and zines, sponsor young poets, and establish connections between local and international poets.
In this rare clip, Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish recites his poem 'A Small Sunset Over an Abandoned Village'.
Darwish wrote the poem in the 1970s, during a period when much of his work centred on exile, displacement and the memory of places lost after the Nakba (the mass displacement and dispossession of around 750,000 Palestinians during and after the 1948 Arab-Israeli war).
Born in the village of Al-Birwa, which was destroyed in 1948, he often returned to the idea of the abandoned village as both a real place and a symbol of what people carry with them after loss.
Mahmoud Darwish

Mahmoud darwish was a Palestinianpoet and author who was regarded as Palestine'snational poet.
In 1988 Darwish wrote the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, which was the formal declaration for the creation of a State of Palestine. In his poetic works, Darwish explored Palestineas a metaphor for the loss of Eden, birth and resurrection, and the anguish of dispossession and exile. He has been described as incarnating and reflecting "the tradition of the political poet in Islam, the man of action whose action is poetry."
